Classroom FAQ

Are you open on snow days?

Yes! As long as conditions are safe for our staff, Bemis Farms will be open for Snow Days for all currently enrolled students from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm. No sign up needed, just stop in.

Are you open on no school days/half days/early release days and school breaks?

Yes, with the exception of a portion of Winter Break. Electronic sign up sheets will be available for parents to sign their child up for these days.

What does Bemis provide?

You can cross “remember to bring sunscreen and snacks” off your list! These will be provided, so you have one less thing to worry about. We serve breakfast (7:00-7:30), and PM snack daily to give your child the fuel they need to keep them actively learning and playing throughout the day.

How will my child get to and from school?

Mornings are busy enough on their own without having to worry about multiple drop-offs between childcare and school. We provide a complimentary bus service with seat belts to make life easier for parents.

Will my child have time to work on homework?

After your child has finished learning for the day, they can make use of their time with us to get any projects or assignments done while at Bemis. We provide a quiet space for them to concentrate and are available to help them as needed.

Will there be an opportunity for my child to go outside?

Bemis Farms is proud to offer an expansive, natural outdoor environment and separate age appropriate playgrounds. Your child will have plenty of opportunities to explore nature, exercise and play games in the fresh air daily. Children will enjoy physical, noisy, and vigorous play. There are many benefits to playing outdoors such as: developing large and fine motor skills, social skills, and healthy risk taking. Staying active with their peers will allow your children to expend their energy after a day at school.
* See our outdoor learning environment page for more benefits.

Are you open in the summer?

We operate on a year-round schedule. For our school age children we offer a fun filled summer camp program. See our Summer Camp page for detailed information.

Why do kids play messy?

Getting messy is an essential part of children’s early childhood development. Playing in the mud or jumping in rain puddles is one of the favorite things children do at Bemis Farms. A few things that messy play provides are: hands-on learning experiences, the freedom to be creative, it enhances children’s sensory development and supports kinesthetic/tactile learning.
